Ideas for an Oscar PartyIt’s the most magical time of the year! Yes, the holidays are over, but with the Oscars on the horizon, the air is filled with Hollywood glamour! If you’re rolling out the red carpet and planning your own Oscar bash this year, make sure it’s award winning! From the food to the dress code to the party games, your party should be worthy of a statue itself. Here’s our ideas for an Oscar party:

Go glamorous with the food

So you may not end up at the Governor’s Ball, but that doesn’t mean you can’t class up your Oscar party menu. And being a little fancy doesn’t have to be complicated. Stop by a local deli and pick up some imported cheese and artisan crackers for an easy cheese board. Caviar goes a long way too; but it’s pretty pricy, so use it sparingly – like sprinkling over deviled eggs to fancy them up. And, of course, wine, champagne and sparkling cider are a must.

Set a dress code

“Who are you wearing?” may be the biggest question of the night – in your living room. Your guests will get in the spirit of the night by dressing up for the event. That doesn’t mean it has to be black tie, either. Guests could also dress up as their favorite movie star or movie character. Imagine watching the awards with Dirty Harry and Rose from Titanic!

Invite the paparazzi

Everyone wants to be part of the red carpet crowd. And while the paparazzi might be a little busy on Sunday, you can still make sure the cameras are flashing. Fashion a photo backdrop and encourage guests to snap selfies and group shots in front of it.

Make sure the TV is legit

Any party that involves a TV show – especially one that’s over three hours long – deserves a flat-screen with a great picture. Before you plan anything else, make sure you’ve got a TV that makes the stars shine even brighter.
